Nine hurt in Offaly accident

Nine people, including three young children, were rushed to hospital late last night following a three-car pile-up in Co Offaly.

The accident happened in Banagher shortly before 9pm. Emergency crews were at the scene for more than two hours.

Five adults were taken to Tullamore General Hospital, while another adult and three children were taken to hospital in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
