Liam Lawlor to be released today

Another media circus is expected to gather outside Mountjoy Prison this morning as Dublin west TD Liam Lawlor is released from his third prison sentence.

The independent deputy was jailed four weeks ago after the High Court ruled that he had continually failed to comply with the Flood Tribunal.

Prison authorities have insisted that he received no preferential treatment while imprisoned, not will he be afforded any on his way out.
