Govt urged to prevent closure of recycling plant

Fine Gael has urged the Government to intervene to save Ireland’s only bottle recycling plant, which announced plans to close with the loss of 375 jobs yesterday.

Francis Fitzgerald, Fine Gael’s spokesperson on the environment, said the closure of the Ardagh glass factory in Ringsend, Dublin, will be a disaster for the environment.
