Gardai in Co Monaghan have released without charge the third man arrested in connection with the Omagh bombing after questioning him for almost two days at Carrickmacross garda station.

The man, believed to be in his mid-30s, was arrested in Dundalk, Co Louth, on Monday as part of the ongoing investigation into the 1998 bombing, which killed 29 people.

Two men in their 20s who were arrested in Co Monaghan on Sunday in connection with the attack were also released without charge yesterday.
