Murder inquiry launched as body found in Belfast
Police launched a murder inquiry today after a man’s body was found at a house in east Belfast.
Officers were called to Lord Street in the city’s loyalist Mountpottinger area.
It is not clear how the man died but it is understood detectives believe there could have been some sort of fight. The victim had suffered head injuries.
A post mortem examination will be carried out later.
At one stage, officers checked an alleyway near the house. A man arrested at the scene is now being questioned about the man’s death, a police spokesman said.
