Three men have died in separate road accidents in Co Cork, Co Tipperary and Co Donegal this morning.

A man died after crashing his car into a ditch near Ballinahassig in Co Cork at around 8am.

A pedestrian, believed to be in his 50s, also died when he was hit by a car at Ballybeg, near Thurles in Co Tipperary, at around 4am.

In Co donegal, a 42-year-old man also died when his car left the road and crashed at Umricam, near Buncrana just before 1am.

None of the victims have been named.

These latest deaths follow six other fatalities on Ireland’s roads over the weekend, including a 38-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter who died in a head-on collision between Tipperary town and Limerick yesterday afternoon.

68 people have now died in road accidents so far this year.
