Weekend road death toll rises to four

Two men have died in separate road accidents in Co Louth and Co Cork this morning.

A man in his early 30s died when his car hit a stone pillar outside Kilbehany, near the Cork-Tipperary border, at around 8am.

A 32-year-old pedestrian also died after being knocked down by a minibus at Killimear, near Drogheda, at around 4.30am.

Meanwhile, gardai have still not named the two victims of separate road accidents in Co Sligo and Dublin yesterday.

A 29-year-old man died when his car hit a van in South Cairns, Co Sligo, while a 22-year-old woman died after being knocked down on Beaumont Road in Churchtown, Dublin.
