Search continues for Co Down trawlermen

Irish and British naval vessels will join forces this morning in the search for the bodies of three generations of one family missing off the Co Down coast.

Irish and British naval vessels will join forces this morning in the search for the bodies of two men and a boy from the same family missing off the Co Down coast.

Michael Greene, 54, his son, 32, and his eight-year old grandson (both also called Michael) have been missing since last Thursday when they left Kilkeel for a fishing expedition.

A special team of divers will set out from Kilkeel in the LE Eithne in the next hour to try to locate the area where the fishing vessel went down.

The LE Eithne will use sonar equipment to scan the seabed in an effort to locate the trawler's wreckage.
