UUP leader David Trimble was today accused at the Young Democrats convention of contributing to the feeling of alienation among Protestants in Northern Ireland because of the concessions he had given to Republicans since the Good Friday Agreement.

North Belfast MP Nigel Dodds bitterly attacked the Northern Ireland First Minister for claiming in the US that anti-agreement unionists were responsible for the feeling of alienation among loyalists involved in recent disturbances in the city.
