The Government’s central authority for child abductions dealt with 65 cases involving 96 children last year, according to figures released today.

The Government’s central authority for child abductions dealt with 65 cases involving 96 children last year, according to figures released today.

This represents a drop of six cases on the figures for 2000. Almost three-quarters of the cases involved United Kingdom, 9% involved other EU states and 12% involved the US.
