Prince Charles visits Merchants Quay Project

Britain’s Prince Charles has visited the Merchants Quay Project in Dublin as part of his official visit to Ireland.

The project, jointly run by the Franciscans and local businesses, was established to help those affected by drug use and HIV in Dublin.

A small group of republican demonstrators had gathered outside the building to protest at the Prince’s visit.

Earlier today, Prince Charles visited the President in Aras an Uachtarain, where he said he hopes his mother, Queen Elizabeth, will be the next British royal to visit Ireland.

He is due to meet the Taoiseach later today.
