Man still in critical condition after Derry bomb

Detectives and forensics experts are today continuing to investigate the scene of a bombing in Derry yesterday.

The area, at the perimeter fence of an army training centre close to Benone beach in Magilligan, Co Derry, was sealed off last night.

A civilian security guard is still in a critical condition in Altnegalvin Hospital.

The 48-year-old Ministry of Defence worker received severe injuries to his lower body after he picked up the device.

Dissident republicans are being blamed for the attack.
