AIB announce crisis measures
The board of AIB has tonight announced a range of crisis measures following the $750M fraud at part of its US operation.
After a four hour meeting the board expressed its ‘extreme disquiet’ at what had happened.
It says it wants a report on what has happened within 30 days.
AIB is also to centralise all its management and control of treasury dealings in Dublin.
An outside expert is also going to be appointed by the bank.
Once again bosses at the bank are insisting that its underlying performance and profitability has not been impaired by the fraud.
