AIB Board meeting finishes

A crisis board meeting at AIB has just ended this evening.

The meeting commenced at about 4pm this afternoon and is focusing on the $750m (€866m) fraud committed on a US subsidiary.

It is understood that in addition to the board here senior American executives also participated in the meeting through a video link.

It is thought the bank will issue a statement in the wake of the crisis talks.
