The Dail has formally called for Deputy Liam Lawlor to resign.

A motion calling on him to stand-down has been passed without a division being called.

Deputy Lawlor is now back in Mountjoy Jail after he was released on the instructions of the High Court to attend the Dail debate.

Speaking during the debate the TD insisted he was co-operating with the Flood Tribunal.

He told reporters as he left Leinster House in a prison van that he was happy with his Dail performance.
