Stadium Ireland to go ahead

Stadium Ireland has been given the green light by the government.

The decision was announced tonight after the independent review into the project was published.

Sports Minister Jim McDaid said he was delighted with the move, and insisted that issues raised by the report, such as cost over-runs, would be examined.

He added that the matter of cost could not be looked at in isolation and that the report also had some very positive elements.
