Finglas stabbing: Gardai arrest second man
Gardai in Dublin have arrested a second man in connection with a fatal stabbing in the Finglas area last night.
Gardai confirmed that they had launched a murder inquiry.
Officers said two men were seen running from the scene after a row broke out outside the house.
Deputy State Pathologist Marie Cassidy examined the body and it is understood the man had his throat slashed.
Detective Inspector John Mulligan, from Finglas garda station, said the man was found in the garden of the house in Ballygall Parade.
‘‘He had extensive injuries to his throat and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards at the scene.
‘‘Two men were seen leaving the scene, there had been a row between them, and one man has been arrested since then,’’ he added.
One neighbour described the dead man as ‘‘harmless’’.
‘‘It’s appalling. The place has gone to bits,’’ he said.
The dead man is not being named until all his relatives have been informed.
The murder was the second in the area this month. On January 12, Robert Rogers, 25, died following another stabbing incident.
