Ryanair refuses to apologise to Aer Rianta

Ryanair and the airport authority, Aer Rianta could be heading for the courts after a full-page advertisement placed in a national newspaper last week by Ryanair.

Ryanair and the airport authority, Aer Rianta could be heading for the courts after a full-page advertisement placed in a national newspaper last week by Ryanair.

Aer Rianta claim the advertisement, a spoof letter of apology from the Aer Rianta to the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O’ Rourke, was holding them up to ridicule.

The letter was signed "Mary’s Muppets".

Ryanair’s Chief executive, Michael O’ Leary has refused to offer the apology Aer Rianta is asking for, claiming Aer Rianta is trying to intimidate Ryanair and the newspapers involved.
