Two die in separate road accidents

Two people have died in separate road accidents in counties Galway and Dublin.

A man in his sixties was killed in an accident at the Gardiner St Lower junction with Summerhill in Dublin city centre.

The pedestrian was knocked down after 9pm and died shortly afterwards.

Meanwhile in Ballinasloe, a man died after the car he was driving hit a wall at 6.15pm.

He was taken to Portuncula Hospital where he later died.

The 71-year-old will not be named until all next of kin have been informed.
