Tuscar Rock report exonerates British

A new report into the 1968 Tuscar Rock air crash is expected to conclude that the disaster was not caused by a British missile or drone.

The finding of the investigation ordered by Public Enterprise Minister Mary O'Rourke will be published later today.

It is likely to conclude that a bird, maintenance-related incident or other technical difficulties were responsible for the St Phelim ditching into the sea off the Wexford coast on March 24, 1968.

All 61 people on board the Aer Lingus flight from Cork to London died.
