US President George W Bush’s special adviser on Northern Ireland today urged Sinn Fein to drop its objections to the North’s new Police Board.

US ambassador Richard Haass said it was in republican’s best interests to put forward representatives to serve on the board alongside the other political parties, including the nationalist SDLP.
