Lawyer rejects Bloody Sunday fees claim

A leading barrister today disputed reports that lawyers working on the Bloody Sunday Inquiry had already been paid €50.7m.

Michael Mansfield, who is acting for the relatives of two of those shot dead, said he was unable to go into details due to "professional rules".

The British Government last night rejected calls for an end to the inquiry after Ulster Unionist Party MP Jeffrey Donaldson had questioned the amount of money being spent on the hearings.
