A Mountjoy prisoner has pleaded not guilty to the murder of another man in a cell in the jail last year.

A Mountjoy prisoner has pleaded not guilty to the murder of another man in a cell in the jail last year.

Laurence Murphy, aged 24, whose last address was Swilly Road, Cabra, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Thomas Brady, aged 22, in Cell 18, A3 Landing, Mountjoy Jail, Dublin, on 23rd April 2000.

Thomas Brady’s last address was in Rowlagh Crescent, Neilstown, Dublin.

Murphy, who was arraigned in the Central Criminal Court today, goes on trial tomorrow before Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns.
