Cox to run for European Parliament President

Munster Independent MEP Pat Cox is one of five candidates running for the job of President of the European Parliament this week.

Pat Cox was named MEP of the year just before Christmas, defeating one of his Presidential rivals, British Labour MEP David Martin.

If Cox wins, he will replace Nicole Fontaine in the office of President for the next two and a half years.
