Two house attacks in North Belfast

North Belfast enjoyed a night of relative calm although two houses were attacked.

The first attack was in the Protestant Twaddell Avenue area, the second on the mainly Catholic Crumlin Road. Nobody was hurt in either incident.

Security is to be tightened in Belfast’s schools after police reports of threats made by Loyalist paramilitaries against teachers. An anonymous phone call, purporting to be from the so-called Red Hand Defenders warned of action.

Meanwhile, teachers in some schools in the north are threatening to go on strike in protest of the violation of children’s rights.
