Bomb left at prison officer's home a hoax

Gardai have revealed that the bomb left at the front door of a prison officer’s home in Limerick city centre today was an elaborate hoax.

Bomb disposal experts have been examining the suspect device which was discovered on Shelbourne Road at around 12.30am.

The incident follows an attack on another prison officer’s car in Limerick city on Monday.
