Gardai have named the woman who was found stabbed to death in a Limerick hotel earlier this morning.

Gardai have named the woman who was found stabbed to death in a Limerick hotel earlier this morning.

The victim has been named as 24-year-old Grainne Dillon, originally from Cork City.

She was a member of the management staff of the Jury’s Inn hotel in Limerick City and her body was discovered in the kitchen of the hotel with multiple stab wounds.

Gardai have described the incident as a ‘vicious and frenzied’ attack and have launched a full murder investigation.

No motive has been established for the attack as yet but the police are questioning all guests and staff at the hotel.

The State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, has been called in and he will carry out a post-mortem examination on the body later today.
