Minor shortage of euro takes EU officials by surprise

Officials from the European Union have warned retailers across the EU that there are mounting problems providing change in the new euro currency.

Officials admit that they are surprised by the practice of large amounts of national currencies are being exchanged in shops while smaller sums are being brought to banks to be exchanged.
