Euro changeover continues to defy expectations

The Central Bank and the Euro Changeover Board expect most cash transactions throughout Ireland to be carried out in euro by tomorrow.

Officials had initially expected it to take two weeks for the euro to gain a foothold, but they now expect more euro than punts in circulation by tomorrow.
