Speculation that Lawlor may not contest election

There is speculation today that disgraced TD Liam Lawlor, who is currently serving a seven-day sentence in Mountjoy Prison, will not run in the next general election.

According to reports, two private opinion polls show the former Fianna Fail deputy has no chance of re-election in the three-seat Dublin-West constituency.
