Euro introduction went smoothly - Irish Bankers Federation
The Irish Bankers Federation has described the introduction of the Euro currency to Irish banking systems as a huge success.
The conversion of customer accounts, payments and ATM machines have been extremely smooth with no disruption to the general public.
The IBF says that the success is credited to the excellent preparation work that was carried out by groups such as the Euro Changeover Board in the run-up to the introduction.
Most of the feed-back about the new currency has been positive so far but most analysts believe that the real test will come tomorrow when banks and shops re-open for business.
