Bank staff continue Euro changeover

The Euro is now the official currency of twelve EU countries.

Adopting the new notes and coins has created a single currency for 300m people. In Ireland, bank staff are continuing their operation to restock every cash machine. Over the next 40 days billions of Euro coins and notes will be put into circulation and the remaining punt will be withdrawn, shredded and buried in landfills.
