Armed raiders steal cash from Thurles bookmaker's
Three armed and masked raiders have escaped with up to £2,000 after holding up a bookmaker’s in Thurles, Co Tipperary, this afternoon.
The three men, who were wearing balaclavas and armed with a shotgun and a knife, entered the Paddy Powers outlet on Friar Street at around 3.30pm.
Nobody was injured during the robbery.
The raiders escaped in a Dublin-registered Blue Honda Civic which was stolen in nearby Bansha earlier today.
Gardai have mounted roadblocks and are searching for those involved.
