Identity of Tallaght murder victim still unknown

Gardai in Dublin have still not identified the man shot dead on Old Blessington Road in Tallaght last night.

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, died after being shot three times by one of two men who approached him from behind.

Gardai believe the dead man is from Dublin and said they are following a definite line of inquiry in their efforts to identify him.

A post mortem has been carried out on the body and the murder scene has been examined by technical experts.

Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the shooting and remain in garda custody.

Gardai have also recovered a silver car which they believe was used by the attackers.
