Tallaght death: Gardai recover getaway car

Gardai investigating the shooting dead of a man in Tallaght last night have recovered a silver car believed to have been used in the getaway.

The victim, a man in his late forties, was shot three times by one of two men who approached him on Old Blessington Road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men are now helping gardai with their inquiries at Tallaght garda station.

The State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, will carry out a post mortem on the body this morning.

The scene remains sealed off pending a full examination.
