Man dies in climbing accident

A man in his twenties has been killed after a rock climbing accident on Carrantuohill in Co Kerry.

Two other climbers had to be airlifted to safety off the mountain in the MacGillyciddy Reeks by a helicopter from the Marine Rescue Co-Ordination Centre in Shannon.

The accident happened in an area well-known to climbers called Heavenly Gates.
