'Banking 365' staff issue strike notice

The Bank of Ireland has been served with seven days strike notice by staff at Banking 365 for failing to agree on an adequate pay rise for handling the Euro currency.

The Bank of Ireland has been served with seven days strike notice by staff at Banking 365 for failing to agree on a requested pay rise for handling the Euro currency.

Industrial action will commence on December 28, unless a significant increase in pay is delivered.

The General Secretary of the Irish Banks Officials Association, John O’Connell, says if the strike proceeds it will have serious implications for the Euro changeover.
