Labour seeks human cloning ban

The Labour Party has called for Ireland to follow the US and Britain’s lead by introducing a ban on human cloning.

Concerns about the ethically dubious procedure have been growing since scientists in the US successfully cloned a human embryo as part of their research into the harvesting of stem cells for use in medical procedures.
