Ireland.com seeks 23 redundancies

The Irish Times website, ireland.com, is seeking 23 redundancies to help the financial difficulties in the Dublin company.

Today's move follows last month’s announcement of a target of 250 redundancies in The Irish Times newspaper. Fifty-six staff work on the company website.

The National Union of Journalists plans to resist the automatic shedding of staff.

Management told staff the company needed to reduce its losses by £1.8m next year.
