Dairy industry suffers fall in prices

The dairy industry has suffered a fall in prices over the past year, but the sector is recovering from several setbacks.

The Irish Dairy Board’s end-of-year review shows that while prices fell in the spring, they strengthened in the summer.

The board said the industry is in good shape considering the difficulties of foot and mouth and the impending economic recession.
