Gardai arrested three teenagers after a garda drove past a petrol station to see staff being held up at gunpoint.

Staff were being threatened by raiders armed with a handgun who took a small amount of cash from the till.

The armed detective saw the robbery in progress in Kilbarrack, and detained three men.

Three teenagers, aged about 18, were being detained at Raheny and Clontarf Garda stations and

questioned.

They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

A firearm and a small amount of cash has been recovered.
