Foot-and-mouth cost Ireland £30m

The foot-and-mouth scare in Ireland cost Irish taxpayers £30m, according to the Department of Agriculture’s end-of-year review.

Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh said the figure could have been higher if the disease had achieved a foothold in Ireland.
