Baby boy abandoned near by-pass

A baby boy who was abandoned by his father near a Dublin by-pass is today recovering from hypothermia in hospital.

The man's vehicle broke down on the Chapelizod by-pass at about 6.30pm yesterday evening. It appears he took the child from the vehicle and placed him in deep undergrowth behind a five-foot wooden fence at the side of the by-pass, then left the area.
