Bishops back Govt's abortion plans

The Irish Catholic Bishops have decided to support the Government’s proposed changes to the section of the constitution dealing with abortion.

The Government has proposed a referendum that will outlaw suicide as grounds for abortion, a move that effectively rolls back the ruling handed down by the Supreme Court in the now infamous X-case.
