Garda appears to have been killed from 'friendly fire'

It now appears that the garda, who died in an aborted bank raid in Abbeyleix, was killed by 'friendly fire'.

Asst commissioner Dick Kelly has been appointed to carry out an investigation of today's fatal shooting.
