Bono and Pat Cox named Europeans of the Year
Munster MEP and U2 frontman Bono have been named as Europeans of the year by a Brussels magazine, which polled journalists and opinion formers across the 15 member block.
Mr Cox is MEP of the year and Bono is European of the year.
The leader of the year award went to Britain’s Tony Blair while George W Bush was named as top non-EU citizen. Each winner gets £3000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
