Birmingham Six man calls for release of jailed Irish jockey

One of the Birmingham Six has called for the immediate release of an Irish jockey who was jailed for murder in Britain last year.

Christy McGrath, from Carrick-on-Suir in Co Tipperary, was given a life sentence after being convicted of murder but a campaign established in Ireland claims he is innocent of the crime.

Billy Power, who spent 17 years in a British prison for a crime he didn’t commit, said the Irish public should put pressure on the Government to do all it can to secure Mr McGrath’s release.
