A 21-year-old student at Letterkenny Institute of Technology died from meningitis last night.

A 21-year-old student at Letterkenny Institute of Technology died from meningitis last night.

The North Western Health Board has begun a meningitis vaccination programme as a precaution.

The 21-year-old was hospitalised last Saturday and placed on a life-support machine.

A total of 2,000 students attend Letterkenny IT.
