Lawlor to appeal one-week jail sentence
Disgraced TD Liam Lawlor is due before the Supreme Court today to appeal against his imprisonment for seven days for contempt of court.
Last July, the High Court sentenced Mr Lawlor to a week in jail and fined him £5,000 for failing to obey an order to comply fully with the Flood Tribunal.
In his appeal today, the west Dublin TD is expected to argue that he has done his best to comply with the tribunal and has handed over a further 25,000 documents about his finances and business dealings.
