Two charged with bomb attacks

Two men have been charged in connection with the recent bomb attacks in London and Birmingham.

One man was charged with causing explosions at Ealing on August 3 and outside the BBC in Wood Lane, also in west London, on March 3, Scotland Yard said.

A second man was charged with causing an explosion in Birmingham on November 3. He is also charged with possession of explosives found during searches in West Yorkshire, and firearms offences.

Both men have also been charged with conspiracy to cause explosions likely to endanger life.

The two men were arrested by Anti-Terrorist Branch officers in London and Liverpool last week as part of an investigation into a suspected Real IRA bombing campaign in Britain.

They have been remanded in custody to appear at Belmarsh Magistrates Court .

Three other men who were being questioned in London by the Anti-Terrorist Branch have been bailed in relation to forgery and fraud offences.

Another man who was being questioned in West Yorkshire has been released without charge. A seventh man remains in custody in London.
